2025 WASSCE Chemistry Trial Questions for Candidates
The 2025 WASSCE for School candidates will be administered by WAEC across the five member states. In this post we share with our cherished readers our latest chemistry trial questions. These questions are to guide learners in their revision activities. These questions are for General Science students offering Chemistry as an elective subject.
Candidates can use these questions for discussions or solve them in groups or individually. Teachers can also use them to test the current understanding of the topics accessed. The performance of final-year students when they solve these questions will offer a great opportunity to determine their levels of understanding of the topics.
2025 WASSCE (SC) CHEMISTRY WASSCE TRIALS
a) (i) Explain briefly the fermentation process.
(ii) Write a balanced equation for the fermentation of glucose.
(iii) What substance must be added to glucose solution to ferment it?
(iv) Explain briefly why tightly corked glass filled to the brim with palm wine
shatters on standing.

(b) State one industrial application of each of the following methods of separation:
(i) crystallization;
(ii) fractional distillation.
(c ) Explain the following terms:
(i) saponification;
(ii) stratification.

(d) Write a balanced equation to illustrate each of the terms in (c).
(e) (i) What is hydrocarbon compound?
