Black Sherif nominated for Best International Act at 2025 BET Awards
Black Sherif, the hitmaker of “Kwaku the Traveller,” has been nominated for the Best International Act category at the 2025 BET Awards.
The nomination places him alongside some of the world’s most celebrated names, including Ayra Starr and Rema (Nigeria), Tyla (South Africa), Any Gabrielly and MC Luanna (Brazil), Ezra Collective and Basky (UK), Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM (France), and Uncle Waffles (Swaziland).
The 25th BET Awards will broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on June 9 and be hosted by award-winning comedian Kevin Hart.
This year’s show marks a major milestone for the BET brand, and Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with 10 nominations, including Album and Video of the Year.
Also unveiled were nominees for Best New International Act, including Shallipopi (Nigeria), Abigail Chams (Tanzania), Dlala Thukzin (South Africa), and others rising from Brazil, the UK, and France.
This nomination represents a new milestone in Ghanaian music history and contributes to Black Sherif’s already increasing legacy.
His journey from the streets of Konongo to the BET stage is nothing short of inspirational, as he went from winning TGMA Artist of the Year to currently competing among the finest worldwide.
