Bank of Ghana releases latest exchange rates, Cedi remains stable at ¢10.25 to the US dollar

The Ghana cedi maintained relative stability against major international currencies, according to the Bank of Ghana’s interbank rates published on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

At the close of trading on Monday, June 9, the cedi was buying at ¢10.2449 and selling at ¢10.2551 to the US dollar—reflecting a steady performance with no significant depreciation over the past week.

Against the British pound, the cedi was quoted at ¢13.8880 (buying) and ¢13.9029 (selling), while the rate against the euro stood at ¢11.6981 (buying) and ¢11.7087 (selling).

Market analysts attribute the cedi’s current stability to continued interventions by the central bank, moderate demand for foreign exchange, and improvements in the country’s external reserves.

The average interbank rates reflect the benchmarks commercial banks use for forex transactions and serve as a key indicator of the cedi’s health in the currency market.

As Ghana heads into the second half of the year, many traders and businesses are closely monitoring the exchange rate patterns, with hopes that the current relative calm will be sustained despite the global economic uncertainties.
