Bawku Conflict: Otumfuo’s intervention brings hope for peace—lawyer for Kusasi Traditional Council

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Monday, June 30, 2025, met with the Kusasi Traditional Council, bringing optimism that the protracted chieftaincy conflict in Bawku may soon end.
The Kusasi Traditional Council's lawyer, Maxwell Agbambilla, expressed hope that peace would soon be restored in relation to Asantehene's wisdom and leadership role.
In the meeting process, six sub-chiefs confirmed their allegiance to the Kusasi Traditional Council, a significant development in the quest for peace.
The Asantehene’s intervention is seen as an essential step towards resolving the dispute.
The people of Bawku and its environs are eagerly awaiting a peaceful resolution, and the Asantehene’s efforts have brought renewed hope.
He observed, “We just want to live in peace and harmony, without fear of violence or intimidation.”
He further urged the youth of Kusasi to stay calm, assuring them that the Asantehene will ensure peace prevails.
