Bank of Ghana Releases Official Exchange Rates for Thursday, July 3, 2025
The Bank of Ghana has released the official exchange rates for major foreign currencies for Thursday, July 3, 2025. reflecting the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for foreign exchange transactions at the close of business on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
According to the data, the Ghanaian cedi continues to face challenges against major foreign currencies, with the US dollar, British pound, and euro all trading at high levels.
For the United States dollar (USD), the buying rate is GH¢10.3148, while the selling rate is GH¢10.3252. This means that if someone wants to exchange US dollars for Ghana cedis, a bank will buy it at GH¢10.3148 per dollar. If someone wants to buy dollars from a bank, they will have to pay GH¢10.3252 per dollar.
The British Pound Sterling (GBP) is even stronger. The buying rate for the pound is GH¢14.0509, and the selling rate is GH¢14.0660. This means that banks will buy one pound for GH¢14.0509 and sell it to customers for GH¢14.0660.
The Euro (EUR) also remains high against the cedi. Banks are buying one euro at GH¢12.1600 and selling it at GH¢12.1720.
As of Wednesday, July 3, 2025, the Ghanaian Cedi remains relatively stable around ₵10.35 to the US dollar.
These figures are based on the average interbank rates used by commercial banks at the end of business on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The interbank rate is the rate at which banks lend money to each other and is used as a benchmark for setting exchange rates for customers.
