The Bank of Ghana has released the new exchange rates for Thursday, July 17, 2025. These rates were based on the average interbank exchange rates of commercial banks that closed business on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
According to the report issued by BoG, the exchange rate for the US dollar is now Gh¢10.4248 for buying and Gh¢10.4352 for selling. This means if you are selling dollars to a bank, you will get Gh¢10.4248 for each dollar. If you are buying dollars from a bank, you will pay Gh¢10.4352 for each dollar.
For the British pound sterling, the buying rate is Gh¢14.0172 and the selling rate is Gh¢14.0322. This means banks will buy one pound at Gh¢14.0172 and sell it at Gh¢14.0322.
The Euro is also included in the new rates. The buying rate for the euro is Gh¢12.1508, while the selling rate is Gh¢12.1607. This shows a small difference between buying and selling prices, as seen with the other currencies.
As of Thursday, July 16, 2025, the Ghanaian Cedi remains relatively stable around ₵10.43 to the US dollar.
These rates serve as key benchmarks for commercial banks and other financial institutions when setting their own daily forex rates for customers. The Bank of Ghana publishes such data regularly to ensure transparency and help stabilize the currency market.
The central bank continues to encourage the public to use official and licensed forex bureaus and banking institutions for their currency transactions. This helps in promoting safe and fair trade in foreign currencies and supports broader economic stability.
