Cedi Falls Massively Against Dollar As Bank of Ghana Releases the Official Daily Exchange Rates for Wednesday, July 2, 2025
The Bank of Ghana has released the official daily exchange rates for Wednesday, July 2, 2025, reflecting the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for foreign exchange transactions at the close of business on Tuesday, 1st July, 2025.
According to the chart released by the Bank of Ghana, the Ghanaian cedi continues to trade against major international currencies with slight fluctuations. The US dollar is being bought at GH¢10.3285 and sold at GH¢10.3389. This marginal difference between the buying and selling prices suggests a relatively stable performance of the cedi against the dollar in recent trading sessions.
The British pound sterling, on the other hand, is trading at a higher rate, with commercial banks buying at GH¢14.1718 and selling at GH¢14.1870. The strength of the pound against the cedi continues to reflect broader trends in global currency markets, as well as domestic demand for the British currency.
Meanwhile, the euro is being bought at GH¢12.1490 and sold at GH¢12.1610. This places the euro between the dollar and the pound in terms of exchange rate value, maintaining its steady position in the currency hierarchy.
The Bank of Ghana’s publication of these rates is part of its commitment to transparency and market stability.
As of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the Ghanaian Cedi remains relatively stable around ₵10.35 to the US dollar.
These rates are used by commercial banks and other financial institutions to guide transactions involving foreign currencies.
It is important for businesses and individuals who deal in foreign currency to pay attention to these rates, especially importers, exporters, travelers, and forex traders.
The Bank of Ghana daily updates these rates to reflect changes in the international currency market. People are advised to check with their banks, as actual rates may differ slightly depending on the bank’s policies and service charges.
