GES Officially Invites Teaching Staff for Promotion
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the opening of applications for promotion to various teaching ranks across the country. This invitation is extended to qualified teaching staff who meet the requirements and are due for promotion in line with the Service’s career progression structure.
In a statement signed and released by the GES headquarters on 18th August, 2025, the promotion opportunities are open to those who meet the specified criteria.
For the role of Deputy Director, applicants must have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Director on or before 2020 and have been continuously in post since then, except for approved leave periods.
The promotion categories include Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent. The Service emphasized that promotions will be based on merit, performance, and years of service, as well as successful completion of the promotion interview or aptitude test. With applicants needing to have attained the previous rank by 2020 and maintained continuous service.
The GES also noted that for officers and teachers holding Master's or PhD degrees, specific guidelines apply regarding the approved GES course of study for those degrees. Applicants are advised to carefully review the qualifications and application process detailed in the announcement.
The application window will be open from Monday, August 18 to Friday, September 5, 2025.
