Ogbojo Junction Accident: Two people reportedly lost their lives, two others sustained injuries.
A tragic road accident at Ogbojo Junction in Accra late Sunday night has left two people dead and two others injured.
The crash, which involved two private vehicles, happened around 11 p.m.
According to the eyewitnesses, one of the drivers appeared to have lost control while trying to overtake, resulting in a head-on collision.
After hearing the loud sound, bystanders rushed to the scene, only to discover the vehicles wrecked and passengers trapped inside.
Emergency services, including the police and fire service, arrived shortly after to rescue the victims.
Unfortunately, two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the morgue as investigations underway.
Residents claim that the area has become an accident-prone zone because of poor lighting and reckless driving, and the tragic incident has prompted an uproar for greater road safety enforcement in the area.
Police assured the public that a thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the precise reason for the accident and also advised motorists to use caution, especially during the night.
