Bank of Ghana Releases Daily Exchange Rates for Tuesday, September 2, 2025

The Bank of Ghana has released daily exchange rates for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, offering insight into the cedi’s performance against major currencies.

According to the published rates, the US dollar opened at a buying rate of GH¢11.5942 and a selling rate of GH¢11.6058. This reflects the tight margins within which banks are expected to trade, ensuring relative stability for importers, exporters, and investors dealing in the US currency.

For the British pound sterling, the BoG listed a buying rate of GH¢15.7043 and a selling rate of GH¢15.7212. The pound continues to command the highest exchange value among the major currencies, largely influencing trade settlements, remittances, and international education payments.

The euro, meanwhile, recorded a buying rate of GH¢13.5686 and a selling rate of GH¢13.5809. This slight variation between buying and selling points suggests consistency in euro trading, which is important for businesses engaged with European markets.

However, the Bank of Ghana highlighted that these figures are the average interbank rates that commercial banks used for their transactions at the close of business on Monday, September 1, 2025. Interbank rates are important because they guide how banks set their own exchange rates for customers.

Exchange rate updates like these are crucial for businesses, importers, exporters, and ordinary Ghanaians who deal in foreign currencies. They help people know how much they will get when exchanging money and also affect the prices of goods and services in the market.

The Bank of Ghana is expected to continue publishing the daily rates to provide transparency and guidance for the financial market.
