New Update: Bank Of Ghana Releases Exchange Rates For Monday, September 1, 2025

The Bank of Ghana has released daily exchange rates for Monday, September 1, 2025, showing slight adjustments in the performance of the cedi against major international currencies.

According to the Bank of Ghana, the US dollar opened at a buying rate of GH₵11.3943 and a selling rate of GH₵11.4057, signaling relative stability in the cedi’s performance against the greenback.

For the British pound sterling, the rate stood at GH₵15.3914 for buying and GH₵15.4080 for selling. The pound continues to trade higher against the cedi, reflecting the strong performance of the UK currency on the international market.

The Euro, on the other hand, was quoted at GH₵13.3294 for buying and GH₵13.3425 for selling, keeping it between the dollar and the pound in terms of market value.

However, the Bank of Ghana highlighted that these figures are the average interbank rates that commercial banks used for their transactions at the close of business on Friday, August 29, 2025. Interbank rates are important because they guide how banks set their own exchange rates for customers.

Exchange rate updates like these are crucial for businesses, importers, exporters, and ordinary Ghanaians who deal in foreign currencies. They help people know how much they will get when exchanging money and also affect the prices of goods and services in the market.

The Bank of Ghana is expected to continue publishing the daily rates to provide transparency and guidance for the financial market.
