Nigerians Plead With Ghanaians to “Borrow” President Mahama After Powerful UN Speech

A video went viral on social media has stirred reactions after a group of young Nigerians appealed to Ghanaians to “lend” them their president, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, for a short period.

In the viral footage, the group—made up of young men and women—said they were deeply inspired by President Mahama’s recent speech at the United Nations (UN), which they described as “so strong it could break a stone.”

According to them, if they could have President Mahama in Nigeria for just a few days, he could confront President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders and possibly set the country on a path toward good governance.

The group explained that their request is based on the conviction that Mahama’s address at the UN reflected the type of bold, visionary leadership they long for in Nigeria. They expressed hope that his presence would ignite positive change and accountability among their leaders.

Though the plea was made in a lighthearted manner, it underscores the growing admiration for President Mahama’s global influence and the desire among many Nigerians for strong leadership at home.
