The age requirements for recruits into the various security services in the country have been adjusted.
According to reports, the required age for prospective recruits into the Ghana Police Service has now been increased to 30 years.
The age limit for other services, including the Ghana Armed Forces, Navy, Prisons, and Fire Service, has been increased to 32.

This development comes after recent months of calls for an upward review of the age limit for enlistment into the services.
Communications Minister, Sam Nartey George, led this campaign, supported by Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson‑Nelson Dafeamekpor, who cited global trends.
The proposal, made in a series of Facebook posts, shared international examples of enlistment age limits from various countries.
The two government officials proposed that the current maximum should be increased to 35 years.
Mr. George argued that many Ghanaians in their thirties remain physically fit and mentally ready to serve their nation.
“I believe an upper limit of 35 years would serve our young people better. Let’s nurture their dreams and not kill it,” the minister stated.
