The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has declared Friday, December 5, 2025, a public holiday.

The Asawase MP announced this in a statement dated Friday, November 28, 2025, which was shared on social media.

He explained that, as has been the practice over the years, the first Friday in December is observed as Farmers’ Day, making it a statutory public holiday.

“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, December 5, 2025, which marks Farmers’ Day, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” the statement said.

Farmers’ Day is celebrated annually to honour the hard work and contribution of farmers and fishers to Ghana’s development, food security, and economic growth.Ghana travel guide
