Police Trainees Engage in Sparring Session as Part of Intensive Academy Training
Police trainees at the National Police Training Academy participated in a spirited sparring session on Wednesday as part of their routine physical and tactical training.
The exercise, supervised by certified instructors, sought to build confidence, discipline, and close-combat readiness among recruits.
According to academy officials, sparring remains a key component of police training, helping trainees develop quick reflexes, improve endurance, and learn how to neutralize threats safely.
The controlled environment ensured that all safety protocols were strictly followed, with trainees equipped with protective gear.
Instructors noted that such drills not only strengthen the physical capabilities of recruits but also enhance teamwork and mental resilience—critical qualities for effective policing.
The session forms part of ongoing efforts to prepare trainees for real-world situations and uphold high professional standards within the service.
