The Ministry of Education has announced that all outstanding teacher allowances for November 2025 have been paid, following the resolution of a technical problem on the payroll system.
In a letter issued on December 17, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, the ministry said the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has completed the processing and payment of the two categories of teacher allowances scheduled for the period.
“The Ministry of Education wishes to inform all teachers across the country that the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has finished processing and paying the two types of teacher allowances planned for November 2025,” part of the statement by the deputy education minister read.
The deputy Education Minister added that a technical issue during the final payroll run initially prevented the payments from being processed as planned, but the challenge has since been resolved by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department, allowing the payments to be completed.
The Ministry of Education apologised to teachers affected by the delay, acknowledging the inconvenience caused, and expressed appreciation for their patience and continued dedication to duty.
“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued dedication of our teachers, whose commitment remains central to the delivery of quality education across Ghana.
“The Ministry will continue collaborating with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and other stakeholders to improve payroll systems and prevent future issues,” he added.
