The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has strongly dismissed circulating reports claiming that 60 percent (60%) of applicants for recent military recruitment exercises tested HIV-positive, describing the information as false, misleading, and unfounded.

In an official statement, GAF clarified that no such data was released by the military or any authorized health institution, stressing that the claim did not originate from its recruitment processes.

According to the GAF, the publication of such figures is not only inaccurate but also irresponsible and capable of causing unnecessary fear, stigma, and public misinformation.

The military further urged the public to disregard and ignore the report, cautioning individuals and media outlets against sharing unverified information, especially on sensitive health and national security matters.

GAF emphasized its commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and strict medical screening standards in all recruitment exercises.
