Important Notice to All National Service Personnel and Employers
The National Service Authority (NSA) has issued an official statement to the general public, employers, and relevant institutions to clarify the status and validity of the National Service Attestation.
According to the Authority, the National Service Attestation is an officially recognized document and must be accepted as legitimate proof of the completion of national service.
The NSA explained that in situations where the National Service Certificate is temporarily unavailable, the Attestation serves the same purpose and holds the same validity until the official certificate is issued.
The notice is intended to address concerns raised by service personnel and institutions regarding documentation requirements, particularly during periods when the issuance of certificates has been delayed.
The National Service Authority has therefore called on all employers, both public and private, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to accord the National Service Attestation full recognition and acceptance.
According to the Authority, this measure will help prevent unnecessary delays, discrimination, or disadvantages against individuals who have duly completed their national service but are awaiting the release of their certificates.
The NSA further reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and efficient national service process, assuring stakeholders that efforts are ongoing to ensure that certificates are issued as promptly as possible.
Service personnel and members of the public are encouraged to rely solely on official communications from the National Service Authority for accurate information and timely updates regarding national service documentation.
This official latter, issued on January 21, 2026 and signed by the Director General Ruth Dela Seddoh
