Bawku West DCE Hon. James Ayamwego participates in the celebration of SRC week at Kusanaba SHS.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bawku West District, Hon. James Ayamwego, joined in the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Week celebration at Kusanaba Senior High School.
The colourful event, held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, on the school campus at Kusanaba, brought together students, teachers, traditional leaders, and community members to mark the annual SRC Week.
Theme for the Program
The theme for the celebration was "Unlocking Kusanaba Senior High School's potential: Infrastructure as a catalyst for excellence through stakeholder collaboration."
In his address, the DCE commended that the assembly is aware of the infrastructure challenges facing the school and assured them that the government and the district assembly are committed to educational development and "are working tirelessly within the limits of resources to ensure that Kusanaba SHS takes its rightful place amongst the best in the region."
He added that for this year, the Assembly has programmed to rehabilitate the school's administration block and is also seeking support from GETFUND to construct a fence wall for the school.
He appealed to the parents, the community, the old students association, and the students for stronger collaboration to improve the standing of the school. He ended by bemoaning the incidence of hooliganism in our schools and urged the students to stay away from such acts, as they retard progress.
The Headmaster, Mr. Braimah Daud, took the opportunity to give the Hon. DCE a tour of the school campus to see firsthand the challenges of the school.
The Hon. DCE noted the concerns and challenges raised by the headmaster and praised the headmaster, his staff, and the PTA for all the efforts they have made to alleviate the situation through the use of the internally generated funds.
The Hon. DCE joined the SRC, management, and the students to cut sod for the construction of four summer huts to provide shelter for both teachers and students.
