A US oil tanker is on fire after being hit by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic regime has claimed.

It comes after the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) said the vital trade route in the Gulf was closed to ships from the US, Europe, and Israel.

Iran has effectively closed the strait after war broke out on Saturday.

The IRGC said this morning that the 19th wave of the “True Promise 4” operation had begun with missiles and drones being launched against the US and Israel.
