GES Releases Funds to Support 2026 WASSCE Practical Examinations
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disbursed funds to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) nationwide to support the organisation of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination practical examinations.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, indicated that the funds are intended to fully cover all requirements for the practical components of the examination.
According to GES, the financial support will be used to procure essential materials and provide the necessary logistics to ensure the smooth and effective conduct of the practicals.
The Service explained that the initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while allowing students to focus on their academic preparation in a well-organised environment.
Regional, district, and school authorities have been directed to strictly apply the funds for their intended purpose to ensure transparency and accountability.
GES further assured stakeholders that robust monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to track the utilisation of the funds and maintain high standards in the administration of the examinations.
The Service also expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their continued collaboration in advancing quality education and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting student success.
