GES Launches Hotlines to Report BECE Malpractice via Calls or WhatsApp (Check Out...)
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has stepped up its fight against examination malpractice ahead of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), urging the public to actively support efforts to protect the integrity of the exams.
In a Facebook post dated May 2, 2026, GES stressed that tackling malpractice is a shared responsibility and called on citizens to report any suspicious activities in and around examination centres. The Service encouraged the submission of evidence in any form—video, audio, images, or text—while assuring the public that reports can be made discreetly and even anonymously.
To strengthen this initiative, GES has introduced dedicated hotlines for reporting cases. The numbers 0201360789 (for calls and SMS) and 0201360786 (for WhatsApp) are now available to enable swift reporting and prompt action against offenders, while safeguarding the identity of informants.
According to authorities, this move is part of broader measures to uphold the credibility of the BECE and ensure fairness for all candidates nationwide, as the exams commence on Monday, May 4, 2026.
The announcement has been widely shared alongside an official graphic outlining the reporting channels, reinforcing the need for vigilance and collective action in eliminating examination malpractice.
