TGMA 27: Piesie Esther Wins Best Traditional Gospel Song with “Nyame Ye”
Piesie Esther emerged victorious at the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, winning the Best Traditional Gospel Song of the Year award with her hit single, Nyame Ye.
The inspirational track, which enjoyed massive support among gospel music lovers throughout the year, stood tall in a highly competitive category featuring some of the biggest gospel songs in the country.
Nyame Ye beat other strong contenders including Correct by Joyce Blessing featuring King Paluta, So Far So Good by Mabel Okyere, M’aseda by Kofi Owusu Peprah featuring Diana Hamilton, Akorfala by Celestine Donkor featuring Diana Hamilton, and Baba God (Matthew 6:26) by Paul Enenche.
Although she secured a major win on the night, Piesie Esther missed out on the Best Gospel Artiste of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year categories, where Nyame Ye had also earned nominations.
Nonetheless, her success at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards underscores her continued influence in Ghana’s gospel music scene, with “Nyame Ye” cementing its place as one of the standout gospel songs of the year.
