Two Teachers Injured as Bawku SHS Students Allegedly Go on Rampage Over Examination Malpractice Prevention

Two teachers at Bawku Senior High School have reportedly sustained injuries after some students went on a violent rampage during the ongoing final examinations.

According to a report by Daily Graphic on June 15, 2026, the unrest began after invigilators prevented certain students from engaging in alleged examination malpractice.

The enforcement of strict examination regulations reportedly triggered anger among a section of the students, resulting in attacks on staff and damage to school property.

During the chaos, two tutors were injured and subsequently received medical attention. School authorities, together with security personnel, later intervened and restored calm on the campus.

The incident has sparked concerns about student discipline and the growing need to uphold academic integrity in schools. Examinations are designed to evaluate students fairly, and any attempt to gain an unfair advantage threatens the credibility of the educational system.

Education stakeholders have emphasized the importance of strengthening guidance and counselling programmes to help students appreciate the values of honesty, responsibility, and respect for school regulations.

The situation also highlights the need for closer collaboration between schools, parents, and guardians in promoting discipline among students.

Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and take the necessary disciplinary actions against those found responsible, as efforts continue to maintain peace and order at the school
