Jakpa D/A Primary Retains Damongo South Circuit Science and Mathematics Quiz Title
Jakpa D/A Primary School has successfully retained its Science and Mathematics Quiz title after emerging as the winner of the 2026 Damongo South Circuit Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition.
The competition, held July 2, 2026, at Al-Manara E/A Primary School in Damongo, saw Jakpa D/A Primary School defend its championship with an impressive performance, reaffirming its academic excellence in Science and Mathematics
The competition, organized by the Ghana Education Service (GES), Damongo South Circuit, under the leadership of the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO), Mr. Zakaria Samed, brought together some of the circuit's finest basic schools to compete in an exciting contest of scientific and mathematical knowledge.
After a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating contest, Jakpa D/A Primary School claimed the championship for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its dominance in the circuit's Science and Mathematics Quiz competition.
The final standings were as follows:
- 1st Place: Jakpa D/A Primary School (Champions – Second Consecutive Title)
- 2nd Place: Jafo Experimental Primary School B
- 3rd Place: Al-Manara E/A Primary School (Host School)
- 4th Place: Jafo Experimental Primary School A
The event showcased the remarkable talents of pupils, who demonstrated confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, and a strong grasp of Science and Mathematics. Teachers and supporters also played a vital role in motivating their schools throughout the competition.
The organizers expressed their appreciation to Al-Manara E/A Primary School for successfully hosting the event. Special recognition was also extended to the Municipal STEIM Coordinator for West Gonja, Madam Baba Munira; the Headmistress of Damongo Girls Model JHS, Madam Seidu Nyenji Najat; Mr. Iddisah Abdul Nasirdeen, Science Tutor at Yabum JHS B; the SISO for Mole East Circuit; Hon. Mohammed Yakubu; teachers, pupils, and all stakeholders whose support contributed to the success of the competition.
Speaking after the event, Mr. Zakaria Samed, SISO for Damongo South Circuit, commended all participating schools for their outstanding performance, discipline, and sportsmanship. He emphasized that such academic competitions continue to inspire pupils to develop a greater interest in Science and Mathematics while promoting academic excellence across the circuit.
The competition concluded with a renewed commitment by the Ghana Education Service to continue nurturing young talents through academic activities that encourage innovation, excellence, and healthy competition.
