Binaba, Upper East Region — August 19, 2026: The Member of Parliament for the Zebilla Constituency, Hon. Ebenezer Alumire Ndebilla, has commissioned Phase 1 of renovation works at the Binaba Health Center, as part of efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure in the constituency.
The first phase of the project includes the refurbishment and furnishing of admission wards and consulting rooms, aimed at creating a more conducive environment for both healthcare workers and patients who access services at the facility.
The renovation forms part of Hon. Ndebilla’s commitment to allocate GH¢100,000 annually from his Health Fund towards the improvement of the facility’s infrastructure. The initiative is intended to bring the health center up to the required standard for its eventual upgrade to a polyclinic.
Addressing residents of Binaba and Kusanaba who gathered at the facility for the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Ndebilla expressed his appreciation to the District Health Directorate and the Health Center Management Committee for their dedication, time and efforts towards ensuring the timely completion of the first phase of the project.
He disclosed that Phase 2 of the renovation project will focus on the refurbishment of the maternity block and staff bungalows, further enhancing the facility’s capacity to provide quality healthcare services.
Hon. Ndebilla assured residents of Binaba and adjoining communities of his continued commitment to releasing the necessary resources on time to improve the facility. He said his efforts will also focus on providing the health center with the modern infrastructure and equipment required to facilitate its upgrade to polyclinic status.
The renovation project is part of the MP’s broader healthcare development agenda aimed at decongesting the Zebilla District Hospital by upgrading both the Binaba Health Center and the Sapeliga Health Center to polyclinics.
The initiative is expected to improve access to quality healthcare for residents of Binaba, Kusanaba, Sapeliga and surrounding communities while reducing pressure on the Zebilla District Hospital.
