Young Girl Arrested After Attempting To Sell Fake Gold Worth Over GH¢100,000 (Watch Video)

A young girl has reportedly been arrested at a gold-buying shop in Wassa Akropong in the Western Region after allegedly attempting to sell fake gold valued at more than GH¢100,000.

According to reports, the suspect was apprehended while allegedly trying to present the counterfeit material as genuine gold at the shop. The transaction was reportedly halted after the material was identified as fake.

Wassa Akropong is located in an area where gold trading and small-scale mining activities are common, with gold-buying shops serving miners and other traders.

Details regarding the girl’s exact age, the method used to determine that the material was fake, and whether other individuals were involved have not yet been disclosed.

The suspect was subsequently taken into police custody to assist with investigations. Authorities are expected to investigate the source of the alleged counterfeit gold and determine whether the incident forms part of a wider operation.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over the circulation of fake gold in mining communities and the importance of verifying the authenticity of gold before completing high-value transactions.

The case remains under investigation, with further details expected as the authorities proceed with their inquiries.
