2026/2027 CSSPS Placement Results Out Now: Step-by-Step Guide to Check Your Results
The 2026/2027 Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placement results have officially been released.
The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results were released at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, allowing qualified candidates to check their school placements online.
The release follows a postponement of the initial August 31 deadline, after the Ministry of Education granted additional time for schools and other stakeholders to complete the submission and uploading of students’ data.
According to the Ministry, the extension was intended to ensure that all eligible candidates had their information properly captured on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and CSSPS platforms.
About 620,000 candidates are estimated to have sat for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), with approximately 565,000 candidates qualifying for placement.
However, about 55,000 candidates may not qualify for placement based on the stated eligibility requirements. The CSSPS Coordinator, Sherif Sulemana, indicated that a significant number of candidates may have become ineligible after failing either English Language or Mathematics.
How to check your 2026/2027 SHS placement
Candidates can check their placement by following these steps:
1. Visit the official CSSPS portal at www.cssps.gov.gh.
2. Enter your 10-digit BECE index number, followed by “26”, representing the year of completion.
3. Enter your date of birth exactly as provided during BECE registration.
4. Click on Sign In to access your placement results.

What if you were not automatically placed?
Candidates who qualify for placement but were not automatically assigned to a school can use the CSSPS Self-Placement option.
The Self-Placement system allows eligible candidates to select from schools and programmes with available vacancies.
However, candidates who have already received an automatic placement should not use the Self-Placement option.
What does “Index Number Not Found” mean?
Candidates who receive an “Index Number Not Found” message are advised not to panic.
The message does not necessarily mean that the candidate has no placement. Candidates should first confirm that their BECE index number and date of birth have been entered correctly.
Candidates warned against placement scams
The release of the placement results is expected to attract individuals who may claim they can change placements, secure admission into preferred schools or manipulate the CSSPS system.
Parents, guardians and candidates have therefore been urged to be cautious and avoid paying money to individuals who promise to influence the placement process.
The Ministry of Education has advised the public to rely only on official information from the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service (GES), Ghana TVET and CSSPS.
What to do after checking your placement
Candidates who receive automatic placement should carefully review their school, programme and admission details on the CSSPS portal and follow the instructions provided for reporting and enrolment.
Candidates who remain unplaced should use the official Self-Placement option to search for schools and programmes with available vacancies.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to support candidates through the admission process and verify all placement information through the official CSSPS platform.
