27-Year-Old Woman Reportedly Killed on Tili–Widnaba Road
The incident occurred on Monday, September 21, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m., when Koyraga Nbeduma and Madam Barikisu Ali were returning to Widnaba after going to grind maize at Azupupunga, a community within the Tili Electoral Area.
According to information gathered by ZEBS FM, the two women were allegedly attacked by the gunmen while returning home.
Madam Barikisu Ali reportedly managed to escape and ran to safety, leaving her bicycle behind. The three-month-old baby of the deceased was reportedly found by the roadside, while Koyraga Nbeduma was later discovered approximately 200 metres from the road in a nearby maize farm.
The incident was reported to the Zebilla Police, who conveyed the body to the hospital. The nurse practitioner on duty, Inusah Lukman, confirmed her death. The body was subsequently released to the family for burial.
Speaking to ZEBS FM, a family member of the deceased, Ali Sulemana, said the two women had gone to grind maize and were attacked while returning home.
He described the incident as shocking and devastating, saying the family never expected the women to leave home and fail to return safely.
Meanwhile, the Zebilla Police Commander, DSP Jackson Kpirtufe, has confirmed that the motive for the attack has not yet been established.
He said police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and identify those responsible.
