GES warns teachers against fraudsters promising automatic promotion

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned teachers participating in its ongoing promotion examination against paying money to individuals claiming they can secure them automatic promotion.

In a statement, the Service disclosed that it had received reports of unscrupulous individuals demanding money from promotion candidates under the pretext of influencing the outcome of the exercise.

GES Management emphasised that the promotion process is transparent and merit-based, stressing that no payment or financial inducement is required to secure promotion.

The Service therefore urged all candidates to remain vigilant and avoid making payments to anyone who claims to have the ability to influence their promotion.

“Therefore, candidates should not pay monies to anyone,” the statement warned.

Management further encouraged all eligible teachers participating in the examination to approach the exercise with confidence, dedication and a positive attitude.

Additionally, teachers who encounter individuals demanding money or have information about such fraudulent activities have been urged to report the matter to the police for the necessary action.

The warning comes as eligible teachers across the country participate in the ongoing promotion exercise, with GES reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that professional advancement is determined by merit rather than financial inducements.

GES has therefore reminded teachers to remain focused and avoid falling victim to fraudsters seeking to exploit their desire for career advancement.
