UEW Holds Pre-Service Orientation to Prepare Final-Year Students for 2025/2026 National Service
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has organized a comprehensive pre-service orientation program aimed at equipping final-year students for the upcoming 2025/2026 National Service.
The orientation, held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, brought together key officials from the University (UEW), the National Service Secretariat (NSS), and various stakeholders to provide students with vital information on the expectations, processes, and benefits of national service.

A statement from the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. (Mrs.) Edinam Kakra Avoke, said the programme was organised in collaboration with the Central Regional Secretariat of the National Service Scheme (NSS) as part of efforts to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and expectations needed for a smooth transition into the 2025/2026 service year.
Speaking to participants, authorities of University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and the National Service Scheme (NSS) urged students to approach the task at hand with commitment, patriotism, and a desire to make a significant contribution to the advancement of the country.

The engagement between the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs and the NSS Central Regional Secretariat was lauded for its professionalism and depth of engagement.
The representatives of NSS stresses their readiness to provide continuous support to service personnel throughout the upcoming service year.
Further, educated students on the registration procedures, posting processes, allowances, code of conduct, and reporting guidelines. They also encouraged students to embrace postings to rural and underserved areas, where their contributions are often most impactful.
The orientation is part of UEW's efforts to ensure its graduates are not only academically prepared but also ready to make meaningful contributions to national development.
