Bank Of Ghana Releases Exchange Rates For Tuesday, August 26, 2025
The Bank of Ghana has published the official exchange rates for Tuesday, August 26, 2025. These rates show how much the Ghana cedi is trading against major international currencies such as the US dollar, the British pound, and the euro.
According to the data released by Bank of Ghana (BoG), One US dollar is being bought at GH¢10.9445 and sold at GH¢10.9555. This means banks and financial institutions will pay GH¢10.9445 when buying dollars from customers but will sell the same dollar at GH¢10.9555.
For the British pound sterling, the buying rate is GH¢14.7631, while the selling rate is GH¢14.7789. This shows that the pound remains one of the strongest currencies against the cedi.
The Euro, which is also widely used in global trade, is being bought at GH¢12.7697 and sold at GH¢12.7823.
However, the Bank of Ghana highlighted that these figures are the average interbank rates that commercial banks used for their transactions at the close of business on Monday, August 25, 2025. Interbank rates are important because they guide how banks set their own exchange rates for customers.
Exchange rate updates like these are crucial for businesses, importers, exporters, and ordinary Ghanaians who deal in foreign currencies. They help people know how much they will get when exchanging money and also affect the prices of goods and services in the market.
Many Ghanaians continue to watch the performance of the cedi closely, as the strength of the currency has a direct impact on the cost of living. Any changes in the exchange rate can affect fuel prices, transportation, imported goods, and even school fees for students studying abroad.
The Bank of Ghana is expected to continue publishing the daily rates to provide transparency and guidance for the financial market.
