WAEC releases final timetable for 2025 WASSCE

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the final timetable for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates in Ghana.

In a letter, the examinations will start from Tuesday, August 5, to Friday, September 19, 2025, across the country.

However, the statement outlines detailed exam dates, times, and durations for a wide range of subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Science, Arts, Agriculture, Business, Technical Drawing, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Each subject is structured into various components, such as practical, essay, and objective papers, with some practical exams organised into multiple sessions to accommodate different groups of students.

All examination times are set in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and apply strictly to candidates in Ghana.

WAEC has highlighted several important guidelines accompanying the timetable:

Time Discrepancies:

Where there is a difference in the duration stated on the timetable versus the question paper, the duration on the question paper should be followed.

Advance Papers:

Certain subjects, including General Knowledge in Art Paper 3 and various Project Work Papers like Basketry, Ceramics, Leatherwork, and Sculpture, will have their question papers distributed two weeks before the scheduled exam date. These will be made available through the respective schools.

Special Needs Accommodation:

In a move to ensure inclusivity, WAEC reaffirmed that visually and hearing-impaired candidates will be granted one-and-a-half times the standard duration to complete each paper.

The 2025 WASSCE timetable is now accessible to all schools and candidates, with WAEC urging all stakeholders to strictly adhere to the schedule and accompanying regulations to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.

For further information, candidates are advised to consult their school authorities or visit the official WAEC Ghana website.
