Morgue Attendant Heartbroken As Handwritten Note Falls From Pocket of Dead Man Taken To The Mortuary
Kenyans have been left reflecting deeply on the uncertainty of life after a handwritten note was discovered in the pocket of a man taken to a mortuary.
The discovery was shared by a morgue worker, who explained that the paper slipped out as the man’s body was being moved into the facility.
The note was not long or detailed, but its simplicity is what struck many.
It contained a short list of what appeared to be everyday purchases—sugar and petroleum jelly—totaling KSh 250.
For many, this ordinary reminder of daily life stood in sharp contrast to the reality that its writer was no longer alive.
Speaking about the moment, the attendant said the note reminded him how fragile human life is.
“When this paper was written, the man had plans for the day. He never imagined he would not live to finish them,” he said.
