GNAT Orders Immediate Suspension of Association Cloth Distribution Amidst Administrative Review.
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has mandated an immediate moratorium on the ongoing distribution of its official association cloth across the country.
In a statement issued by Deputy General Secretary Mr. Daniel Affadu on November 13, 2025, instructs all regional and district secretaries to forthwith cease the exercise, pending a comprehensive review of the distribution process.
The GNAT cloth, a revered symbol of professional solidarity and identity among educators, features the association's emblem and motto, "We Live to Teach." While the official rationale behind the suspension remains undisclosed, sources indicate that the decision was precipitated by concerns over administrative inefficiencies, procurement irregularities, and supply chain inconsistencies.
This decisive action highlights GNAT's commitment to upholding the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and institutional integrity. Regional and district secretaries have been instructed to expeditiously notify local branches, and members are awaiting further elucidation and a revised distribution timeline.
The suspension has sparked considerable interest and curiosity among GNAT members, who are eager to understand the underlying rationale and implications of this decision. As the association works to address these issues, members are assured that the leadership is steadfast in its commitment to finding a swift resolution and resuming the distribution of the official cloth.
In the interim, teachers and stakeholders are advised to remain vigilant and informed through official GNAT communication channels for updates on the status of the distribution exercise.
