Oti Region: Youth of Dodo Amanfrom Appeal to Government Over Worsening Road Crisis (See Photos)
The youth of Dodo Amanfrom in the Oti region have made a passionate appeal to the government and the District Assembly to urgently address the deteriorating state of roads in their community, describing the situation as a major threat to safety, development, and livelihoods.
According to the youth, the poor road network has made transportation extremely difficult, especially during the rainy season when large portions of the road become muddy and impassable. This has affected farmers, traders, students, and commuters who rely on the road daily to access nearby towns, schools, markets, and health facilities.

- Severe dust in the dry season
- Impassable and muddy during rains
- Children & elderly suffering from coughs, asthma, catarrh & eye infections
- Emergency cases delayed—lives at risk
- Farmers losing produce & income
They explained that frequent vehicle breakdowns, increased transport fares, and delays have become common, placing an extra burden on residents and discouraging economic activities in the area. Emergency cases, they added, are particularly worrying, as ambulances and other essential services struggle to reach the community on time.
