Bawku: Family Appeals for Public Help to Locate Missing 60-Year-Old Woman

A family in Bawku in the Upper East Region has appealed to the general public for help in locating a 60-year-old woman who has been reported missing. According to relatives, the woman left her home several days ago and has not returned, raising serious concern about her safety and well-being.

According to a report by Nhyira 104.5 FM on Friday, January 2, 2025, a family in Bawku is appealing to the general public for help to locate a missing woman who has not been seen since Monday, December 22, 2025.

The missing person has been identified as Azara Seidu, a 60-year-old woman. According to the report, Azara Seidu had traveled to Abode, Bawku, to visit her son-in-law, Martin Ayama, and his family. Upon her arrival, everything appeared normal until she later left the house under the pretext of taking a short walk around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, she has not returned since then.

Mr. Ayama explained that the family waited for several hours, hoping she would come back on her own. When she did not return, they began searching the surrounding areas and made inquiries within the community. Despite these efforts, her whereabouts remain unknown.

Azara Seidu

Azara Seidu is described as being approximately 4.5 feet tall, slim in build, and dark in complexion. She was last seen wearing a blue straight dress made from printed material, along with a veil covering her head.

Family members noted that she speaks only Hausa and Kusasi, which may make communication difficult if she is unable to express herself clearly to strangers.

The family says all attempts to trace her have so far proved futile, raising serious concern about her safety and well-being. As days pass without any information, anxiety continues to grow among relatives and community members.

Martin Ayama is therefore appealing to the public to assist in any way possible.

They are therefore calling on anyone who may have seen Azara Seidu or has any information that could help in finding her to report to the nearest police station or contact the family directly. The family is hopeful that with the support of the public, she can be found and reunited with her loved ones as soon as possible.
