Man beaten to death following drinking bar altercation

A 33-year-old man, Godwin Amoah, has been found dead after a fight with a group of 5 at Kye-Kyewere-Dunkwa in the Central Region.

Godwin and his brother had gone to a bar to have a drink when another young man and his fiancée walked in.

The lady, upon seeing Godwin, started playing with him and placed her hand in his hair. This infuriated the lady’s fiancé, who then accused her of cheating on him with Godwin Amoah.

Godwin denied the allegations, stating that he did not know the lady and had never met her before.

According to Ebenezer Manso-Cudjoe, reporting on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 97.5FM, the situation escalated into a fight, and Godwin was defeated.

The bar owner then ordered them to leave the bar, or he would mobilize people to come and deal with them. Godwin’s brother pulled him away and took him to prevent any other incident at the bar.

However, Godwin later left home after his brother fell asleep, picked up a pair of scissors, and headed to the young man’s house to fight him again. Godwin was later found dead in a pool of blood with visible wounds to the head and other parts of his body.

The police have since been informed, but those suspected to have attacked him have fled the scene.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach the lady who allegedly engaged Godwin, leading to the fight, have been unsuccessful, as she is nowhere to be found.
