Haruna Iddrisu, Deputy Communication Minister, survives a ghastly accident on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Highway.

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are reported to be in stable condition following a road accident on the Bolgatanga–Tumu highway.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday while the ministers and their convoy were travelling to the Upper West Region for official duties linked to the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

In a statement, the Ministry of Education assured the public that no life-threatening injuries were sustained.

“The minister and the deputy minister are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga–Tumu road,” the statement said.

All officials travelling with the ministers are also safe and have received the necessary medical attention.

“All members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and receiving the required medical care,” the release noted.

The Ministry further expressed gratitude to emergency responders and members of the public who offered immediate assistance.

“The Office expresses its appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance and concern,” it added.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
