Agona Swedru: Three-year-old boy dies in bee attack (See Photos)
A three-year-old boy has died following a bee attack in Wawase, a suburb of Agona Swedru in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region.
The incident, according to the Agona West directorate of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), occurred around 5 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026, when a swarm of bees attacked the community.
A total of 10 people were affected, leading to the unfortunate demise of Christopher Amponsah, the three-year-old.
The remaining victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and are receiving care.
Personnel from NADMO Agona West and the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to bring the situation under control.
The Municipal NADMO Director, ACDCO Charles K. Agbavitor, on Saturday, March 21, led a team to the scene to assess the situation and commiserate with the bereaved family.
This marks the second incident of a bee attack in the Central Region within one week leading to the death of two persons.
An earlier incident that occurred on Tuesday led to the demise of a female student of a private senior high school in Winneba.
