Apply Now: NIA Announces Temporary Recruitment for Nationwide Registration of Children Aged 6–14

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced temporary recruitment opportunities to support an upcoming nationwide mass registration exercise for children between the ages of 6 and 14 across Ghana.

In an official notice released on March 16, 2026, the Authority explained that the initiative forms part of efforts to capture the biometric and personal data of eligible children into the National Identity Register. The move is aimed at strengthening the country’s national identification system and improving access to identification services for young citizens.

According to the NIA, the registration exercise is designed to ensure that children within the specified age bracket are properly documented in the national database at an early stage.

To support the nationwide exercise, the Authority is inviting qualified and interested individuals to apply for a number of temporary contract positions.

Available positions include:

  • Technical Support Officer (Technician)
  • Commissioner for Oath (CFO)
  • Card Verification Officer (CVO)
  • Mobile Registration Workstation Operator (MRWO)
  • Registration Officer (RO)

The NIA emphasized that all the listed roles are temporary contract positions created specifically to assist with the mass registration exercise.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the official NIA recruitment portal.

Applicants can apply by visiting:

The Authority advised prospective applicants to carefully review the job requirements and complete the application process accurately before submitting their forms. The deadline for submission of applications is 22 March 2026.

The NIA further stressed that all applications must be submitted only through the official recruitment portal, and applicants are required to upload a clear photograph during the application process for verification purposes.

Additionally, the Authority cautioned the public that the recruitment process is completely free of charge. Applicants have therefore been warned not to pay money to any individual claiming to facilitate recruitment.

The NIA urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid dealing with fraudsters or unauthorized agents who may attempt to exploit the exercise.

The Authority also encouraged qualified individuals interested in supporting the national identification programme to apply before the stated deadline.

The nationwide registration exercise for children is expected to play a significant role in strengthening Ghana’s identification infrastructure and ensuring that more citizens are captured in the national database from an early age.
