NTC Postpones Teacher Licensure Exams, New Date Announces (Check Out…)
The National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced a new start date for the 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) following the declaration of a statutory public holiday.
In a statement issued on March 16, 2026, the Council indicated that the examination, which was initially scheduled to begin on Monday, March 23, 2026, will now start on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
According to the NTC, the change became necessary because March 23, 2026, has been declared a statutory public holiday. Candidates are therefore advised to take note of the revised date and prepare accordingly.
The Council clarified that aside from the change in the commencement date, all other arrangements for the examination remain unchanged.
Under the revised timetable, the examination papers will be written as follows:
- Tuesday, March 24, 2026: General Professional Knowledge
- Wednesday, March 25, 2026: Grade-Level Specialism Pedagogy
- Thursday, March 26, 2026: Multiple Subjects Content / Single Subject Specialism
The National Teaching Council expressed regret for any inconvenience the adjustment may cause and appealed to candidates and stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation.
Candidates who require further information have been encouraged to visit the Council’s official website or contact the NTC through its official communication channels.
