Eyewitness recounts moments before helicopter crash in Tema (Listen to Audio)

An eyewitness and parent, Sammy, has shared the harrowing moments leading up to a helicopter crash at the TMA Day Care Centre in Tema Community 1, Site 17.

In an interview with Adom News’ Isabella Gidiglo, Sammy revealed that the incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Monday while he was on his way to pick up his child.

“I was on my way to pick up my child when I got to Wonderland Sabrina and received a call. I lifted my head and saw the helicopter coming down, but I thought it was just a display, so I didn’t take it seriously,” he recalled.

Moments later, the helicopter crashed and burst into flames.

“Before I knew it, the helicopter was on fire. I immediately rushed to the school, not just for my child, but for all the children I know there,” he said.

Describing the urgency of the situation, Sammy added:

“The fire was intense, so we had to help douse it. Fortunately, we managed to put out the flames even before the fire service arrived,” he recounted.

Details regarding casualties, the cause of the crash, and the identities of those on board remain unclear.
