Savannah Region Applicants Appeal for Intervention over Medical Examination Location
Concerned youth and applicants from the Savannah Region have appealed to authorities to intervene in the arrangement for their recruitment medical examination.
According to the applicants, they have been directed to travel to Tamale in the Northern Region to undertake their medical screening, a situation they say places an unfair burden on them.
In a statement issued by the concerned applicants, they indicated that while candidates in other regions are allowed to complete their medical examinations within their respective regions, applicants from the Savannah Region are required to travel outside the region.
"This arrangement places an additional financial and logistical burden on applicants from the Savannah Region. Many candidates must travel long distances and spend extra money on transportation, accommodation, and feeding,” the applicants stated.
They explained that the situation could make the process difficult for some qualified candidates who may struggle to afford the extra cost associated with travelling to Tamale.
The applicants have therefore appealed to the Savannah Regional Minister and traditional authorities in the region to intervene and engage the appropriate recruitment authorities to reconsider the decision.
"We respectfully appeal to the Savannah Regional Minister and our traditional authorities to intervene in this matter so that arrangements can be made for the medical examinations to be conducted within the Savannah Region,” they added.
The concerned applicants believe that conducting the medical examinations within the region will promote fairness, reduce the financial burden on candidates, and ensure equal access to the recruitment process.
They expressed hope that their concerns would be given the needed attention and addressed promptly.
