Good News Hits Unsuccessful Recruitment Applicants as Muntaka Makes Big Announcement

According to a report by TV3 Ghana on Wednesday March 11, 2026, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has delivered encouraging news to thousands of Ghanaians who did not qualify in this year's recruitment exercise.

The minister announced that the government will retain the data of all applicants who participated in the current recruitment process.

According to the minister, those who failed to make the cut this year will not need to start the process from scratch. Instead, they will be automatically considered for the 2026 recruitment exercise. This directive came directly from the President, who instructed that no qualifying data should be discarded.

The announcement has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing mixed feelings. While some welcomed the news as a relief, others raised serious concerns about the fairness of the selection process. A number of applicants alleged that some candidates used Artificial Intelligence to gain an unfair advantage during the aptitude test, allowing them to score higher marks and qualify over candidates who wrote the test genuinely.

One concerned citizen questioned why the system, which was said to detect and disqualify AI-assisted responses, appeared to have failed. He suggested that those who qualified through AI assistance should be made to sit and rewrite the test to prove their competence.

Others also raised concerns about the large number of vouchers sold to applicants, despite only a limited number of positions being available. Some commentators drew comparisons between the current administration's handling of the recruitment and how the previous government managed similar exercises.

Despite the controversy, the minister's announcement offers hope to many disappointed applicants. The government's decision to preserve their data means their efforts have not gone to waste, and they stand a genuine chance of being selected when the next recruitment window opens in 2026.
