A final-year student beat a lecturer into a coma for rejecting her project work.
A final-year female student in Nigeria has allegedly assaulted her project supervisor, leaving him critically injured and currently in a coma.
Reports indicate that the student had submitted her final-year project multiple times, but it was repeatedly rejected by the lecturer without clear explanations. Frustrated by the situation, she is said to have carried out the attack.
When questioned, the student claimed that the lecturer had been making inappropriate sexual demands. She further alleged that after she refused these advances, her work was consistently rejected.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions online. While many have strongly condemned the violence, others are using the moment to highlight concerns about alleged misconduct by some lecturers within academic institutions.
Regardless of the circumstances, violence is not an acceptable response. Cases involving harassment or unfair academic treatment should be reported through appropriate institutional channels to allow for proper investigation and accountability.
