GATISA Announces Zonal Competition 2026 Under the Theme “Bonded Through Sports”

The Greater Accra Technical Institute Sport Association (GATISA), in collaboration with the Ghana TVET Service, has officially announced the 2026 Zonal Games under the inspiring theme “One TVET, One Spirit Play Fair.”

Branded as “Bonded Through Sports,” the initiative seeks to bring together Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the Greater Accra Region, using sports as a powerful tool to foster unity, teamwork, discipline, and mutual respect among students.

The much-anticipated competition will be held across three zones, each with designated dates and venues to ensure widespread participation and inclusivity:

  • Zone 2 (A & B) will kick off the games from 23rd to 24th April 2026, hosted at Dodowa Technical Institute and Accra Technical Institute.
  • Zone 3 (A, B, C & D) follows on 28th and 30th April 2026, featuring a home-and-away format across participating institutions, adding a dynamic and competitive edge to the tournament.
  • Zone 1 (A & B) will take place from 29th to 30th April 2026, hosted at Accra Technical Training Centre and New Century Technical Institute.

According to organizers, the zonal competition is more than just a sporting event—it is a platform designed to strengthen bonds among TVET students, encourage healthy competition, and promote the values of fair play and sportsmanship.

The official flyer for the event features a vibrant display of sports equipment, including footballs, basketballs, and trophies, symbolizing both the celebratory atmosphere and the competitive spirit that will define the games.

With excitement building across participating institutions, the GATISA Zonal Competition 2026 is expected to serve as a unifying force within the TVET community, reinforcing the message that through sports, students can build lasting connections and a shared identity.
