UEW Opens Admissions Portal for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially opened applications for admission into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Prospective students can apply to full-time, sandwich, and distance learning programmes across a broad range of disciplines. Candidates who will be sitting for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination are also encouraged to apply as “awaiting results.”
Application Process
Applicants are required to purchase an application voucher either online via the university’s admissions portal or from selected banks, including
- GCB Bank
- Agricultural Development Bank
- Republic Bank
- Zenith Bank
- Consolidated Bank Ghana
- Prudential Bank
- Access Bank.
Completed applications must be submitted online using the voucher details. Applicants should have ready soft copies of their academic certificates or results, a passport photograph with a red background, a valid national ID, and an active email address and phone number before beginning the process.
Application Fees
UEW has outlined the following application fees:
Undergraduate (Direct and Mature), Diploma, Post-Diploma, and Bachelor’s programmes: GH¢255.00
Postgraduate (MA, MEd, MSc, MBA, MPhil, PhD): GH¢325.00
International applicants: USD 100.00
Deadlines
Direct and Mature applicants: September 30, 2026
Sandwich programmes: June 30, 2026
Applicants are strongly advised to apply early to avoid last-minute challenges.
Key Admission Guidelines
The university urges all applicants to carefully review the admission brochure available on its official website before applying. A fee-paying option is available for candidates who meet the minimum entry requirements but fall short of the competitive cut-off points.
Applicants for Physical Education and Sports Coaching programmes must not exceed 40 and 50 years respectively.
University of Education, Winneba (UEW) also cautions that incomplete applications—especially those without the required supporting documents—will not be processed.
Additionally, certificates obtained outside recognized institutions such as West African Examinations Council, universities, and technical universities in Ghana must be verified by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, with the evaluation report submitted as part of the application process.
