Minister for Education Announces Date to Open Application Portal for Teachers Recruitment (Check Out Date…)

The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has instructed the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to open the GES recruitment portal on Friday, April 10, 2026, as part of efforts to ensure a competitive, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process.

 

The Ministry highlighted that this move reinforces its commitment to fairness, accountability, and equal opportunity in hiring teaching and non-teaching staff for public schools across the country. By announcing a clear start date, authorities aim to give qualified applicants sufficient time to prepare and submit their applications via the official online platform.

Sources within the Ministry explained that opening the portal on schedule forms part of broader strategies to address teacher shortages while maintaining a credible, open, and corruption-free process. The initiative is expected to attract a large number of capable graduates and diploma holders interested in joining the Ghana Education Service.

Prospective applicants, including recent university and college of education graduates, are advised to gather all necessary documents ahead of time, including Academic Certificates, Birth Certificates, National ID Cards, and other relevant credentials. Detailed guidance on eligibility, available positions, and the application procedure will be published on the official GES website and the dedicated recruitment portal once it goes live.

 

This announcement aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen Ghana’s education sector, including plans to recruit additional teachers to improve learning outcomes nationwide.
