GES Assures Placement for All Qualified BECE Candidates Into Senior High and Technical Schools (Check Out Date...)
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has assured the public that all qualified candidates who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be placed into Senior High Schools and Technical Schools across the country.
In a statement issued on May 14, 2026, the Management of GES congratulated all Junior High School graduates on the successful completion of the BECE and announced that extensive preparations have been completed to welcome fresh students into various second-cycle institutions on September 18, 2026.
According to the statement, every qualified candidate will have access to senior high or technical education, stressing that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure smooth placement and admission processes nationwide.
GES also dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media claiming that about 72,000 students may not gain placement this year. The Service described such reports as speculative and inaccurate, urging the public to disregard them.
The statement further indicated that there are enough infrastructure and facilities available to accommodate all qualified students. Management added that ongoing efforts to phase out the double-track system will not negatively affect students’ access to education. Instead, the move is expected to improve teaching and learning while maintaining full access for all eligible students.
GES reaffirmed its commitment to providing equitable, inclusive, and quality education for every Ghanaian child and called on all stakeholders to support the national effort toward improving education in the country.
